Much can be done with medications, some aspects of the environment can be changed, more effective ways of responding to stress, danger and uncertainty can be learned. Jim uses empathic engagement to encourage clients to allow themselves to make desired change. He also has a good understanding of cognitive behavioral techniques, assertiveness training and the process of grief. Jim will provide mental status and depression assessments, individual and group psychotherapy and referral services for adults and adolescents with a focus on older adults.
