Team Development
“Workshop in the Woods”
This workshop can be designed as a half-day, one or two-day program comprised of a series of indoor/outdoor challenges which allow your team of 6-30 members to put theories of problem-solving into action. Individuals learn self-confidence and the benefits of risk-taking, as well as how to be productive by depending on one another.
This activity-oriented workshop allows your team members to “let their hair down” and be themselves, thus breaking down the image barriers that often separate employees by department or levels.
Themes and Objectives
Building the Ideal Team-Generate an image of current team functioning -Discover how to implement principles of effective teamwork -Practice executing effective teamwork principles -Comprehend the value of group rather than individual decision making -Find “win-win” solutions, not “win-lose” solutions Create a “What’s in it for US?” mentality Dr. Frager believes that while most people know the principles of effective teamwork, many of us have difficulty in actually following those principles. Our society today, with its emphasis on the individual, does not foster characteristics, which facilitate teamwork. The workshop is designed to help people to overcome this handicap, and to discover the rewards inherent in being team players.
The Role of the Leader-Build self-esteem and commitment in each team member -Identify obstacles to performance; reduce or eliminate those obstacles -Overcome resistance to change Become a leader who fosters unity and rewards team players Leadership is action, not position. The workshop demonstrates that the roles of both the leaders and followers are critical to the group’s reaching its goals. Individual Feedback-How to give and receive feedback constructively
How to work through issues and concerns in work relationships
Translating the Workshop into Action-Define and revise your teams mission -Set your team goals Plan strategies to reach your goals and achieve your mission Upon completion of Dr. Frager’s team development workshop, your team members will have formed a more cohesive unit; they will be better able to communicate to solve problems, and to better manage daily stress – as a result of having had fun together and having developed a spirit of support and trust.
